Redglaer is Bob Bellerues experiment in harsh textural environments, and he finds himself a dandy of a harsh one inside a huge concrete warehouse in Tulsa. American Masonry is the celebration of the spaces acoustics. Filling the booming structure with dark rumbles, antic squeedles and sheer blather, Bellerue fully engages the cavernous sonics, creating chittering walls of echoed overtones and hints of eternal combustion. He roars through the space like a giant robot, spluttering sparks and evil intent all the way.
CD version includes the same material as the 10” except longer edits, plus a CD-only 3rd track.

“The Time Machine project was conceived in order to find a simple and immediate way to work with rhythm. I built two cheap and imprecise, almost-square wave oscillators with a wide range of frequencies. These oscillators can sweep and cross-modulate from sparse pulses to high frequency audio signals. Girma YIFRASHEWA
“Love and Peace”
Unseen Worlds presents new recordings of solo piano pieces by Ethiopian composer Girma Yifrashewa, the first release of Yifrashewa's music outside of Africa. Born in Addis Ababa in 1967, Girma Yifrashewa is a worthy new torchbearer of African pianism. His highly personalized approach to the piano likens him to Ethiopian composer Emahoy Tsege Mariam, while his use of Ethiopian pentatonic scale within the Western Art Music format places his compositions in conversation with more academically minded work. Traditionally Ethiopian in melody, cinematic in vision, and deep in beauty, his compositions occupy a lyrical middle ground between classical and jazz that is supremely listenable yet defies easy classification.
Beginning his musical life at a young age with the traditional krar (influenced by Ethiopian folk legends like Kassa Tessema) Girma did not discover the piano until he was sixteen years old. He enrolled quickly thereafter in the Yared Music School, eventually earning a scholarship to study at the Sofia Conservatory in Bulgaria. Despite a short period as a refugee in Italy following communism's demise in Bulgaria and the consequent loss of his scholarship, Girma completed his conservatory training in Bulgaria gathered through charitable organizations in direct recognition of his talents. Following the passing of Ethiopian composer Ashenafi Kebede in 1998, Girma moved beyond his conservatory repertoire and began his career as a composer, penning the composition "The Shepherd With The Flute" - an homage to Kebede's most famous work, "The Shepherd Flutist." Since then, Yifrashewa has established himself a pre-eminent composer of Ethiopia, touring Africa and Europe extensively on cultural commissions. The emotional directness and unique quality of his work make it destined for wider popularity, still.

“Crawling back into the wound: NID 1995 - 2007. NID is an experimental group whose aim it is to challenge conventional concepts and structures of electronic music by experimenting with the source of sounds. The music is created on the spot, making each performance a genuine and unrepeatable event. It has been described as moving sound-objects, improvised electronic noise, or brooding ambient music. It has been compared to an underwater-journey, a pathway to the inner self. Given enough volume, it certainly affects the body as well as the mind. In which way remains open to the listener’s psyche. NID was formed in 1995. Over the years the core-members have performed in art-galleries, rock-clubs, bars, water-reservoirs, cinemas, as well as at industrial and electronic festivals and in record shops. In 1998 they were invited to play onboard the MS Stubnitz when it was anchored in the harbour of Stockholm as part of the "European Culture Capital" activities. They were also involved in the 2001 Six And More & R:IP jubilees, improvising with 30 other electronic free-jazz musicians. As for the group name… A “nid” is a curse or insult with homosexual connotation that was frequently in use in the Viking age. It brought a depth to the concept of honour and shame. It could be used as a challenge or simply to ridicule another (which was a challenge per se). It could reveal anyone else to be no better than he was, and it undermined social structures. NID disbanded in 2006. Chris Sidgell continues in various projects, most notably his solo project B-Tong. Jürgen Eberhard releases music under the name Feine Trinkers Bei Pinkels Daheim. This is NID’s one and only proper CD release. The sound on this work may appeal to fans of Lustmord, New Blockaders or collage post-industrial in general-experimental ambient. The music on this CD was recorded live 2004 in Arnheim by Mars Wellink (Vance Orchestra). The cover was done by Katja Wahl. Limited edition of 500 copies, CD in jewel case.”

“The inward rising”
“Stian Skagen (b.1980) aka [concept.virus] is one of the leading Scandinavian sound artists and has toured and recorded with acts such as Årabrot, Ryfylke and Nernes/Skagen, his work has been exhibited and performed several places around the world. The music presented on this release was made for the sound installation The Inward Rising by Skagen and fellow artist Monica Winther. The installation was presented at the Henie Onstad Art Centre from the 20th of November until 14th of December 2008. The Inward Rising is according to Skagen the result from a one-year research in paint pigments reflective and absorbing light qualities. LED light was programmed to change the colors reflecting from the painting. Various patterns and color combinations build up a large painting that in constant change as the lights are changing. The object was the source for a sound and video composition. The music on this record is standing in a minimalistic electro-accoustic tradition, inspired by composers such as Morton Subotnick, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Iannis Xenakis. The sound is digital and abstract, but contains clearly recognizable objects and structures which interacts with one another and makes up an organic whole. The critic Bjørn Hatterud wrote in a review on the piece in kunstkritikk.no that Skagen and Winther …“has created some of the most powerful I’ve experienced in an art museum ever… The sound is murky and dark. I hear trees falling, the roar of waterfalls, creepy creatures, or the roaring emptiness of space…” Prisma Records is proud to present this powerful, dynamic and extreme, yet delicately intricate composition for the first time.”

“Irish composer Roger Doyle’s first release on Die Stadt is his prize-winning work The Ninth Set, a 67 minute masterpiece in 5 parts. He was awarded the Magisterium Prize at this years’s Bourges International Electro-acoustic Music Competition in France for parts 4 and 5. The award, which is one of the most important prizes in the world for electronic music, is open to composers having at least 25 years of professional experience in the field, and its objective is “the promotion and diffusion of works that might become milestones in the history of electroacoustic music”. Previous works of Doyle include a 5-cd set Babel which took ten years to compose, where each track corresponds to a room or place within an imagined tower city; and the 3 hour Passades, music made from software that freezes sounds like a freeze-frame in dvd. He’s also known for his project Operating Theater which released the classic “Rapid Eye Movements” album - consisting of 4 works composed between 1968 1980 - on Steven Stapleton’s (Nurse With Wound) own United Dairies label in 1980. Furthermore he guested on Fovea Hex’s “neither speak nor remain silent” EP number 2 “Huge”, alongside among others Clodagh Simonds, Brian Eno, Percy Jones and Colin Potter. The cd comes in a color digipack in a first edition of 600 copies.”

Sinistri, formerly known as Starfuckers, is an experimental music unit based in Italy. “This music was originally planned to form a part of the third tape box in the Møhr interpretation series of ZNS Tapes. In this series different artists got an individual 30-minutes-piece of basic material by Møhr to be interpreted it in any way: Using it as a backing tape and adding some more tracks, getting inspired and doing something unique in the spirit of the basic material, deconstruct and arrange it anew. The invited artists had any opportunity to re-work the source material. For the actual release the basic material was placed on side A and the interpretation on side B, enabling the listener to compare the basic and the final sound. Three tapes were compiled as one tape box linked by a loose theme. The first box, Bürokratie, contained works by Das Konzentrat, Bestattunginstitut and Suicide Commando (released in 1990), the second, Kulturschock, contained works by Andrew Chalk / Darren Tate, Ectoplasmic Embryo Experience and Flagrants D’eli (released in 1991). The third one, which was to contain Hafenstadt by Maeror Tri (as well as material of PBK and The Haters), has never been released due to the sudden end of ZNS Tapes. We're convinced that this combination of basic stuff plus musical reworking is still an interesting and exciting experience for the audience, maybe especially after more than 20 years in the archives”. Møhr existed between 1986 and 1994 as the solo project of Andreaz Vogel.
Previously he had been active as a bass player and drummer in various post punk and noise rock groups.Since its inception the main aim with Møhr was
to create a dense and energetic sound without the use of conventional instruemnts. With this wall of sound the listeners were almost under attack and forced into a dark and brooding listening environment, both on the recordings and in the live situation. Andreaz also ran the important tape label ZNS recordings.
Maeror Tri existed from April 1988 to the end of 1996, coming from the very
north-western part of Germany. The three members were influenced by (post)
industrial, noise rock and experimental ambient and found a way to establish
their very own drone based style, using often guitars but also other instruments plus all kinds of (self build) objects and masses of sound effects. Their symbol, the triangle “Wheel” stood for “consciousness”, moving & shining in different colours and speed. The sound was meant as a tool for the listener to open the mind for transcension & sensitization: 'We want to transmit a total openness, the bursting and overcoming of all mental barriers, the breaking out of the enforced subject “Tunnel-Reality” of modern society. Out of Maeror Tri evolved the project Troum that is still very active.

“Trace”
Phil Julian is a UK based sound artist, composer and improviser active since the late 1990’s, with a prolific output under the Cheapmachines alias and his own name. His work has been released on a catalogue of imprints and encompasses sonic textures ranging from harsh squalls of noise to compositions structured around hyper-minimalistic timbres and drones. Studio recordings and live performances within Europe and North America have focused on the use of electronics, particularly unstable and-or chaotic systems e.g. modular synthesisers, feedback, contact microphones, objects and surfaces and computer based works.
“Trace” was recorded at Stockholm’s EMS Elektronmusikstudion during Julian’s Guest Composer residency in 2013. Using a combination of the vintage analogue equipment at EMS and various computer processes, the material on “Trace” was recorded and mixed specifically for diffusion over the Audiorama 17.4 surround sound system, custom built and installed inside the commissioned torpedo workshop on Skeppsholmen island in Stockholm. “Open Form” which takes up the A side of the release is made up of much shorter pieces recorded
over the two week residency. “Corona” is an improvised piece using analogue electronics only and “Arrival” uses a custom computer patch alongside a complex set of processes running on the huge EMS Buchla synthesiser.
The recordings combine the dynamics and space associated with modern composition and electroacoustic works with the density and abrasive qualities more often encountered in noise and contemporary computer music.

In April 2011 the two couples formed by Kommissar Hjuler & Mama Baer and Ninni Morgia & Silvia Kastel ventured for a tour in the UK; it was the first time they played together but their shared common visions, attitude and general craziness actually gave life to an inspired team. Every show was different; in Edinburgh, they decided to perform a piece originally written by Ninni Morgia & Silvia Kastel, "Jericho", that Papa Baer liked. So before the show, the group pre-recorded a tape in a big theater-like room inside the venue, with a spoken version of the lyrics. On stage, Mama Baer projected a video made by her, depicting the four of them standing against a wall; the music starts off with Kommissar manipulating the tape, then the actual "Jericho" lyrics are sung by Mama Baer and Silvia Kastel while Ninni Morgia’s bends, buffs and brushes his guitar and Kastel’s synthesizer starts growling out of the monster’s belly. Tension, discomfort, love, pain, theatre? music? art? Four people, each of them immolates themselves for the cause.

Mecha/Orga (Greece). Mecha/Orga is the project of Yiorgis Sakellariou. Since its inception in 2003, Yiorgis has released a number of albums and performed his work internationally. He is actively involved with contemporary and experimental music in Greece through his CD-R label Echo Music and as a member of the Centre of Contemporary Music Research and the Hellenic Electroacoustic Composers Association. Adam Asnan (UK). This work, as its title suggests, can be best described as a presentation of materials analogous to a grumble, rustle, gurgle or rasp. As the dialogue and interplay between these materials takes form,
periodic lapses give way to variations of perceived obedience and stillness. The retention and encouragement of selected artifacts produced by technological idiosyncrasies or human agency in operation) provide for extra dimensions of punctuation, interruption and diversion. By allowing the sounds of the apparatus to remain, a juxtaposition between the acousmatic window and its inherent
artificiality is suggested. With a predilection for the classic theoretical/aesthetic framework of musique concrète, Adam’s work focuses primarily on the variable natures of sound capture, exploration and projection, often utilising the playback device and/or loudspeaker as an instrument in itself. Pauwel De Buck (Belgium). Neenah Foundry is a multi-channel composition constructed from field recordings which were made in the courtyard of an apartment building and in the cafeteria of Sint-Lukas art academy in Gent. The premise for this work was the contrast between these two sound environments. Due to the enclosed nature of these spaces, the surrounding sounds of the city were heavily filtered; only a residue was audible in the courtyard. The overpopulated cafeteria, in combination with its bad acoustics, created a complex frame of sound reflections and textures. Joshua Convey (USA). New York-based Joshua Convey creates textural, rhythmic and, perhaps surprisingly, melodic compositions by weaving traditional instrumentation (guitar, harmonica), field recordings and electronics to create moody tension between the different sounds. Joshua is also a member of Fessenden, a trio with Stephen Fiehn and Haptic’s Steven Hess.
Adrián Democ (Slovakia). For flute, soprano and string quartet. Adrián begun studying composition in Brno (Czech Republic) in 2003. Since then, his work has been commissioned and performed across Europe. He is also an improvising player of the fujara and other traditional Slovakian wind instruments. Mastered by Themistoklis Pantelopoulos. Edition of 500 copies.
