Yong Yandsen is a musician from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He’s a member of Emacm / SiCKL, collectives promoting avant-garde and experimental music and expressions in Malaysia. Some may know his name from the Shang compilation, released on Xing-Wu, with two other artists from Malaysia. He did compose a piece for guitar, which was his first instrument that he drop for tenor saxophone some years ago. With his tenor you can find him on various recordings from the band Klangmutationen, but this is his first solo. 7 improvisations recorded over a period of two years in Cheras, KL. Free tenor sax with strong breath and playing with pitch in a lyrical style that make Yandsen related to Albert Ayler, Kaoru Abe or Masayoshi Urabe. Black vinyl limited to 300 copies. Yong Yandsen est un musicien Malaisien, de Kuala Lumpur. Il est membre de Emacm / SiCKL, des collectifs faisant la promotion de l’expérimentation dans la musique et plus généralement dans les arts en Malaisie. Certains ont pu découvrir Yandsen à travers la compilation “Shang” du label Xing-Wu, mettant en avant 3 artistes Malaisiens, sur laquelle il a composé une pièce à la guitare, qui fut son premier instrument et qu’il a depuis abandonné au profit du saxophone ténor. Au saxophone tenor, on peut le trouver sur les différents disques du groupe Klangmutationen. Ce disque est le premier en solo, avec 7 improvisations enregistrées à Cheras, KL sur une période de deux ans. Un souffle incandescent, un son écorché, du cuivre chauffé à blanc.
