Le UN (new version) was initiated by David Chiesa in 2019.
Le UN acts as an improvisation society: each member is involved in the artistic realisation as much as in the social, non-hierarchical organisation of the ensemble.
The individual and their practice – and not its dilution in the collective – are at the centre of this orchestral experimentation. Importantly, each individual preserves their singularity within a protean mass without obstructing the collective space.
This LP (+ CD) was recorded during a three-day residency at Le Volcan, Scène Nationale du Havre, in April 2021.
This recording is a manifestation of a collective practice of free improvisation beyond genres, a music full of effervescence and turbulence, where the acoustic and electric sources attempt the wager of spontaneous collective fabrication without any direction, irradiated by strong flickering light, with a flight of incongruous actions!

Grand ensemble d’improvisation, Le UN (nouvelle version) a été initié par David Chiesa en 2019.
Le UN est une société d’improvisation. Chacun de ses membres est engagé dans la réalisation artistique autant que dans l’organisation sociale, non hiérarchique, de l’ensemble.
C’est l’individu et sa pratique qui sont au centre de cette expérimentation en orchestre et non sa dilution dans le collectif. Et il importe à chacun et chacune de préserver sa singularité au sein d’une masse protéiforme sans obstruer l’espace collectif.
Ce disque a été enregistré lors d’une résidence de trois jours au Volcan, Scène Nationale du Havre, en avril 2021.
C’est donc une pratique collective de l’improvisation libre au-delà des genres, une musique toute en effervescence et turbulences, où les sources acoustiques et électriques tentent le pari de la fabrication collective spontanée sans aucune direction, irradiée par une lumière épileptique, avec une voltige d’actions incongrues !
