Bernard Donzel-Gargand (1955-2015) was a French electro-acoustic composer. He did found the studio Collectif & Cie in 1982 in Annecy and worked there until 1998. Then he was part of Studio Forum with Philippe Blanchard (Lieutenant Caramel) who produced this 2 CD. A nice introduction to his electroacoustic and instrumental works from 1977 to 2015.

Un disque posthume conçu par Philippe Blanchard (Lieutenant Caramel) pour rendre hommage au compositeur Bernard Donzel-Gargand (1955 – 2015).
Après deux premiers CDs, “Toile De Sons” chez Plate Lunch en 2000 et “Still To Be A Storyteller” chez Monochrome Vision en 2009, ce 2 CD propose un large aperçu de son travail électroacoustique et instrumental sur une période s’étalant de 1977 à 2015.
Membre fondateur du Collectif & Cie à Annecy de 1982 à 1998, puis du Studio Forum Bernard Donzel-Gargand avait un pied dans l’électroacoustique et un autre dans l’improvisation aux accents de musique populaire. Sa musique a toujours su allier poétique et technique, narration et abstraction.
CD1: “Où est le danger” (2006), “Chant d’HU BA RE” (1979) – sa première musique acousmatique réalisée au Studio Espace de Genève -, “Dispersion” (1980), “Points cardinaux” (1988), “Il y avait une ombre dans la nuit, c’était celle du soleil” (1996) – Commande de l’IMED de Bourges en hommage à Pierre Schaeffer -, “Éclair et frisson” (2000), “Chemin d’émois” (2004), “Avec mon vélo” (2003).
CD2: “Hommage aux Oix” (1990), “Annecy – Barcelona” (2012) improvisation avec Jacqui Detraz (tablas), Carola Ortiz (clarinette basse et voix) et Bernard Donzel-Gargand aux traitements électroniques. “Triolets” (1979), duo de percussions avec Patrick Devers, “Et noire” (1990), projet d’interaction entre lumière (Didier Beauvarlet de Moismont) et musique (Bernard Donzel-Gargand), “Suite pour Eva” (2005) à l’accordéon, un bout de répétition à l’accordéon avec Georges Socquet et une étrange phonographie fait sur le vif avec un oiseau nommé Piou-Piou – comme une tranche de vie fixée à jamais.
