On Healsgebedda Budgerigar, Nurse With Wound turn memory itself into a delirious tape loop: long, sample‑swollen excursions where pet chatter, phantom TV themes and street detritus melt into a woozy, psychedelic netherworld of half‑remembered sound.
The legendary Nurse With Wound, helmed by the visionary Steven Stapleton, returns with Living Oysters, a mesmerizing collaboration with Irish experimental musician Diarmuid Mac Diarmada. A heady freerange mix of krautrock, experimental and toe tapping psychedelia, leaning towards a slightly more rock orientated sound that pushes the project into exciting new territories while maintaining its characteristic otherworldly presence. Regular Nurse With Wound members Colin Potter, Andrew Liles and Matt Waldron are all on board with the added voice and talents of Irish artist and poet Tara Baoth Mooney, creating a rich tapestry of sound that breathes with aquatic fluidity and surreal sonic landscapes. The collaboration emerges as a testament to the enduring power of experimental music, where Stapleton's decades-spanning mastery of avant-garde composition meets fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to sound design.
Living Oysters suggests living, breathing entities—sounds that pulse and evolve with mysterious rhythms and deep-ocean consciousness. Drawing from Nurse With Wound's rich history of musique concrète and sound collage techniques, the album incorporates field recordings, manipulated instruments, and electronic processing to create immersive soundscapes that feel both ancient and futuristic. The tracks unfold like subaquatic expeditions, where familiar sounds become strange and alien through careful processing and layering, existing in a liminal space between waking and dreaming, between the organic and the constructed.

This was originally release on Betalactum in 2004 as a limited edition CDR Of 25 copies & as such, was one of the rarerest items in the Nurse discography.
It has been put back together from its original fragmented form & mastered at IC Studio by Colin Potter, who did the mutating of the voice recordings recorded & cut up by Mr. Stapleton a long, long time ago .
Reissued due to popular demand, this is an edition of 300 copies in a digipack with new Santini artwork.
Possibly one of the strangest Nurse releases of all time. And that's saying something.....
A collaboration between Steven Stapleton (Nurse with Wound) and Robin Rimbaud (Scanner), exploring the darkest regions of the airwaves and live electronics.
It's an ominous trip into radio waves, processed voices, electronics, squeaky guitars and a mysterious labyrinth of echoing sonic disturbances.
CD version with extra material in a Santini-designed sleeve. Recorded in Sweden in 2016. featuring Stapleton, Liles, Waldron & Potter, the chilly ambience of the performance reflects the icy conditions at the time of the shows.
New studio album featuring Bladderflask. Originally issued as a limited edition Lp lathe cut.
Contains 20 minutes extra material. New cover art by Babs Santini.
Nurse With Wound and Bladder Flask first crossed paths in 1980. The following year saw the release of NWW’s fourth album, Insect & Individual Silenced and Bladder Flask’s debut (and in fact only) album, One Day I Was So Sad That The Corners Of My Mouth Met & Everybody Thought I Was Whistling (Orgel Fesper Music.) The LP quickly came to the attention of Steven Stapleton who distributed it via United Dairies and had the following to say when later interviewed for The Wire’s Invisible Jukebox feature:
‘…I love the Bladder Flask album – and what a great title, perhaps my favourite ever…’
The fact that One Day I Was So Sad… was distributed via United Dairies gave rise to rumours that Bladder Flask was NWW working under an assumed name. However, Stapleton was soon to set the record straight. Although certain similarities are obvious, Bladder Flask’s work was a lot less refined than NWW, ‘…a seemingly random mix of Dada, Free Improvisation and Musique Concrete – with a big dollop of absurdism thrown in for good measure, sounding at times as though The Goons had somehow gained control of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop!…’
In 1981 there were plans for a second Bladder Flask album to be issued on United Dairies but (for various reasons) the project was shelved.
With the 40th anniversary of the One Day I Was So Sad… LP, Richard Rupenus approached Steven Stapleton with a view to him remixing/reworking some Bladder Flask material, an invitation which Stapleton was happy to accept. However, rather than merely remixing/reworking existing Bladder Flask, Stapleton has created a brand new work which magnificently fuses both artists’ sense of the absurd.
A double CD in a deluxe 6-panel digipak, with gorgeously mind blowing new art from Mrs Santini and MS Waldron. Just under 3 hours of insane sonic exploration to fry your synapses. The long awaited reissue of the legendary She and Me Fall Together In Free Death album, with over 45 minutes extra material, most previously unreleased. Housed in a deluxe 2 CD digipak gloss heavy gauge, on United Dairies, with new art by Babs Santini, remastered by Colin Potter.
This expanded collection is the definitive version of The Ladies Home Tickler. An essential historical document for the new and lifelong NWW follower. Classic tape cut ups, radio sludge, surrealism and abstract chaos. The birth of NWW, a project that is now in its 5th decade: Recorded back 1980, the NWW line-up for these recordings was:
Steven Stapleton: Record player, cassette machine, noise.
Jim Thirlwell: Bass, ergonomic jack plug, Wasp.
William Bennett: Guitar, Wasp.
Space Musik was officially commissioned by the Melbourne Planetarium 'Science In The Dark' series 2009.
Per the NWW website, this is a remastered version of the original plus three previously unreleased tracks.
A recording of Nurse performing live at The Great Monster Dada Show
Henie Onstad Kunstsenter, Oslo 2019

6 - panel digipack with beautiful Babs Santini artwork
CD only from Nefarious Vol 1.
Chance Meeting of a Defective Tape Machine and Migraine, housed in a hand made sleeve with new artwork.
Remastered by Matt Waldron
When Matt Waldron attempted to make a tape to tape copy of Nurse With Wound's 'Chance meeting on a dissecting table of a sewing machine and umbrella' he didn't expect the machines to do their own remix. The music on this disc was performed by two slightly defective disobedient tape recorders.
"An accumulation of discarded musical vermin 1983 - 2006." With Mr. Stapleton returning to publishing through his United Dairies imprint, he has collected various studio outtakes from over the years and compiled them into this exceptional body of NWW ephemera. Immediately, Nurse fans will recognize vastly mangled variations of "Black Is The Colour Of My True Love's Hair" from She And Me Fall Together Into Free Death, "Cold" from Thunder Perfect Mind, and "Rock 'N Roll Station" from any number of those sessions. Stapleton has long recycled themes in a kaleidoscope of distortions, permutations, and hallucinations, and hearing such favorites all over again, brings a smile to us all. From Helen Scarsdale
