Pascal Battus plays an instrument that he invented himself: inspired by the principle of the hurdy-gurdy, the rotating surfaces are driven by an electric motor. Pascal Battus uses many materials to rub, hit, play with the pitches, timbres and sounds produced.
With Cymbale Ouverte, the musician decided to use only cymbals to produce different types of resonances.
Four pieces make up the album and each one offers four sonic expanses that follow their own path, always guided by the spirit of improvisation.
