On Healsgebedda Budgerigar, Nurse With Wound turn memory itself into a delirious tape loop: long, sample‑swollen excursions where pet chatter, phantom TV themes and street detritus melt into a woozy, psychedelic netherworld of half‑remembered sound.
Back in the summer of 2004 Nurse With Wound (Steven Stapleton and Colin Potter) were invited by Kunst I Nordland to visit the Arctic Lofoten Islands for a number of weeks. A small studio was set up in their apartment and their task was to collect sounds from the area and create a series of unexpected radio transmissions that were broadcast on the local radio station over a period of two months. A substantial amount of material was produced and the broadcasts were released as double CDs, the first being Shipwreck Radio Volume 1. This has long been out of print, so we are now re-releasing it in 2 parts on vinyl for the first time, as a deluxe 3 disc spot-varnished boxset with a full colour 2 page insert, with original photographs from the project and new written material. The audio has been carefully remastered for vinyl by Colin Potter.

'Three lesbian sardines!' Shouted by a heckler at a performance by the Dadaist Hugo Ball on stage at the Cabaret Voltaire. Is a perfect title for Nurse With Wound’s final appearance at the ‘Great Monster Dada Show’ at the legendary Henie Onstad Kunstsenter in Oslo, 2019. The largest exhibit of dada art and artefacts this century, over 250 artworks by 43 artists including Kurt Schwitters, Jean and Sophie Teuber Arp, Hannah Hoch, John Heartfelt, Tristan Tzara, Max Ernst, Francis Picabia, Raoul Hausmann, Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray.
This electric performance captures the band at their most eclectic and playful. Here six tracks feature the classic line up of Steven Stapleton, Andrew Liles and Colin Potter including the toe tapping crowd pleaser ‘Flea Circus’ – a mutant hybrid of Kraftwerk and Aphex Twin and is amongst the best the band have ever recorded. ‘Broken America’ is timely reminder of the dire situation we are all facing with the arrival of Trump’s America.
The cover features stunning new artwork by acclaimed artist Babs Santini.
500 copies only in neon green vinyl.
This expansive 2CD collection from Nurse With Wound compiles a range of experimental works from 2008-2011, offering a glimpse into their cut-and-paste sonic universe. Opening with the jarring 'Cruisin' For A Bruisin'', the set quickly plunges into a diverse array of sound, blending drones, rhythms and odd vocal samples. The first disc is split into 'The Bacteria Magnet' and 'Rushkoff Coercion', while the second features 'Erroneous, A Selection of Errors,' likely showcasing unreleased material.

This was originally release on Betalactum in 2004 as a limited edition CDR Of 25 copies & as such, was one of the rarerest items in the Nurse discography.
It has been put back together from its original fragmented form & mastered at IC Studio by Colin Potter, who did the mutating of the voice recordings recorded & cut up by Mr. Stapleton a long, long time ago .
Reissued due to popular demand, this is an edition of 300 copies in a digipack with new Santini artwork.
Possibly one of the strangest Nurse releases of all time. And that's saying something.....
Featuring two archive mixes of the original 1984 recording. A 2007 epic variation recorded for possible inclusion in Peter Strickland's film 'Katalin Varga' and a unique 'psychedelic' version from 2012 which until now has never been heard.

"This 1983 period in which Gyllensköld was recorded was a fantastic time for the evolution of Steven Stapleton's audio art. His collaborations with Diana Rogerson, Robert Haigh (Sema), David Tibet, and Thirlwell around this time elicited some of the most exciting work Nurse With Wound had yet recorded. Listen to this material and compare it to Chance Meeting and it becomes clear that in just a few years, Stapleton's art had grown by leaps and bounds. The production quality on these tracks is remarkable, and the widening out of the NWW soundworld opened up a whole new audio toybox that Stapleton has continued to experiment with up to today. This new sound encompasses vocal experiments, vintage LPs of easy listening music, demented nursery rhymes, lateral references to disposable pop music, avant-garde jazz and minimalistic piano composition, all glued together with evocative atmospheres redolent of things unholy, troubling and perverse, but always oddly indefinable and puzzlingly misshapen. In retrospect, Gyllensköld can be seen as the beginning of the 'mature;' period of NWW, and thus it is an indispensable release for fans of the project. Perhaps influenced by the obsessions of his friend and collaborator Tibet, Stapleton also began weaving religious and occult references into his usual name-dropping of avant-garde artists and movements . . . NWW's Gyllensköld comes across at times as the soundtrack to a schizoid episode: disembodied voices intoning nonsense, floating subliminally across the stereo channels, or cackling in evil delight. The sounds are denser here than on earlier works such as Homotopy To Marie. Areas of silence are mostly gone, replaced by layers of drone, cartoonish noises and mutated voices. 'Several Odd Moments Prior to Lunch' opens the brief album, setting the stage with its lysergically altered vocals and a frightening, yawning chasm of haunted, spectral sound. Stapleton, Thirlwell, and company learned how to wield the studio like an instrument on these and other recordings of the period. Effects such as reverb, delay, ring modulation and backwards tracking are utilized to create evolving textures and darkly psychedelic dreamspaces. 'Phenomenon of Aquarium and Bearded Lady' utilizes a number of instruments, including horns and piano, to create a bizarre dislocated funeral dirge in which the sounds of a slowly cycling jack-in-the-box are not out of place. For fans of musicians like Jacques Berrocal, who prefer their free jazz with a heavy dose of whacked-out eccentricity, this is about as good as it gets. 'Dirty Fingernails' is something else entirely, a longform exploration of outré textures, combining mysterious trebly noises with percussive bleeps of mysterious origin." --Brainwashed

A welcome re-release, as an expanded version, of one of Nurse With Wound’s most notable albums. Originally recorded in 2002 by Steven Stapleton and Colin Potter, the piece ‘Salt’ was a limited edition release to accompany an exhibition of Stapleton’s artwork at The Horse Hospital in London. The following year ‘Salt Marie Celeste’ was released as a single 61 minute long piece of droning atmospheric sound that manages to be both minimal and maximal at the same time. A parade of strange, often unlikely, sounds appear and disappear during the voyage from Z to A. Described by many as being one of the most unsettling and/or engaging NWW recordings, it went on to feature in many ‘albums of the year’ lists in 2003.
This new edition comes in a six-panel digipack with stunning all-new artwork by Babs Santini. Remastered by Colin Potter, IC Studio, London 2022.
Space Musik was officially commissioned by the Melbourne Planetarium 'Science In The Dark' series 2009.
Per the NWW website, this is a remastered version of the original plus three previously unreleased tracks.
Originally this was only available for a short period of time before World Serpent went bust and is often thought of as a ‘lost’ NWW work.
Review from brainwashed.com : Longtime NWW fans are going to be very very very pleased with this album. Shaved down to a mere duo featuring Steven Stapleton and Colin Potter, this is almost a tribute to the more ambient and free-form early to mid-period Nurse with Wound. The original mission statement from 1978 included a provision that Steven Stapleton didn't like "songs" and the last few full-length albums ('An Awkward Pause', 'Acts of Senseless Beauty', 'Who Can I Turn To Stereo' and 'Rock 'n Roll Station') have all been heavily song-based. Clocking in at under 40 minutes, this particular journey is comprised of three pieces: the two endpieces which linger around the 15-minute mark and the 8+ minute middle piece, whose title loosely translates to "Up in the Air, Singing" in Gaelic. Musically, it's perhaps the most intimate Nurse with Wound has been, with a particular, almost personal subtlety which I haven't detected probably since 'A Missing Sense.' The album opens with a warm underscore, scatterings of organic and electronic noises twitter and scurry by, accented with quiet, mumblesome voices, bees, finger piano or marimba (I can't tell) and various other sound effects -NOT- simply recycled from previous projects. It continues with an almost arguably surprising twist of events as the "band" jumps into full-force instrumental hyper Kraut-rock mode towards the end of the second track. The music and feel of the last track almost echoes the 'Musical Pumpkin Cottage'-era work from Stapleton with Tibet. The vocals repeat the title over and over again, comfortably easing any listener into utter bliss. This album can easily become one of my most listened-to records for 2002.

Long out of print and much in demand, this classic NWW CD is now back. This time as a double CD set with a CD of unreleased alternate mixes of each track.
It’s packaged in a stunning matt digipack, with all the information in a clear gloss spot varnish. This is only visible from certain angles!
NURSE WITH WOUND playing ‘The Surveillance Lounge’ were and are Steven Stapleton, Andrew Liles, David Tibet, Nadja Belabidi, Lynn Jackson, Ollie Mathura O’Keeffe, Freek Kinkelaar, Miranda Kinkelaar, Melon Liles and Maude Swift.
The 2 tracks on this record have been constructed from flotsam, jetsam & driftwood gathered in the Lofoten Islands by Steven Stapleton & Colin Potter in 2004 & reassembled at IC Studio, London 2021. The single is a prelude to the vinyl release of ‘Shipwreck Radio Volume 1/Lofoten Deadhead’, but getting vinyl manufactured is difficult & slow (the single itself was many months late), so we're not sure when the boxset will be available....
The NWW classic 3CD set is back in stock. For those of you that missed out on the green foil version, it’s now repressed with “iridescent” foil on the front and spine. It changes colour as the light catches it. 500 copies of this new edition

Chance Meeting of a Defective Tape Machine and Migraine, housed in a hand made sleeve with new artwork.
Remastered by Matt Waldron
When Matt Waldron attempted to make a tape to tape copy of Nurse With Wound's 'Chance meeting on a dissecting table of a sewing machine and umbrella' he didn't expect the machines to do their own remix. The music on this disc was performed by two slightly defective disobedient tape recorders.
