““Folia” is the third CD collaboration of Andy Moor (guitar) and Yannis Kyriakides (computer) created in 2009 and performed in numerous festivals and concerts that year. It is an epic reworking of the famous tune from the 16th and 17th centuries called “La Folia”. Fusing influences from this and South American folk music, they create a unique sound world of slowly evolving soundscapes, fluctuating beats, and rich oscillating harmonies.” label info
“Folia” ou “Folies d’Espagne”, probablement l’un des plus anciens thèmes musicaux européens (16ème siècle), basé sur un motif répété et troisième collaboration phonographique pour Yannis Kyriakides (ordinateur) et Andy Moor (guitare électrique, Dog Faced Hermans, Klekta Red, The Ex, etc). En fait, une suite d’ambiences sonores au relief faussement mouvant, statiques malgré l’agitation, un brin d’exotisme cheap, des bips et des harmoniques scintillantes, quelques mirages numériques, un peu d’plaisir du vibrato, un peu de tremolo, toujours les charmes des résonances, quelques plocs et du buzz… Enregistré au Stockhausen Studio le 4 septembre 2009.
