Limited pressing of 300 units.The project is the result of a three-year creative research project across Crete (GR). Starting with an artist residency the musician visited the Greek island over the course of three summers, collecting field recordings, performing with local musicians, producing electronic compositions and gathering old records and tapes of traditional music of the region. The project resulted in the assembling of a unique sound collage which reflects his personal experience as a music visitor to this part of the Mediterranean with one of the richest ancient history and living traditions.About the artist: Tasos Stamou is an electroacoustic music composer, performer, alternative music technologist and tutor. He has collaborated in recording and performing projects with a wide range of free improvisers and sound experimentalists (Adam Bohman, Steve Beresford, Sharon Gal, Alan Wilkinson, London Improvisers Orchestra, Mike Cooper, Andrea Parkins, Kuupuu & Lau Nau, Terry Day, Adachi Tomomi, Ignaz Schick, Magda Mayas, Arma Agharta, Thodoris Ziarkas, etc.).
Électroacousticien grec, Tasos Stamou est un petit rigolo ! Son titre “Musique con Crète” se réfère à une résidence de trois ans passée en Crète. Il a réalisé de nombreux enregistrements, joué avec des musiciens du coin, acheté des disques de musique populaire locale et ensuite tout assemblé dans un cocktail de musique concrète et de détournements populaires. Au-delà du côté loufoque, “Musique con Crète” ravira les amateurs de Sublime Frequencies, Kink Gong ou du label Discrepant.300 copies.
