A split 10inch with Jean-Philippe Gross on one side and Golden Oriole on the other.
The first one delivers 7’30” of an impulsive electronic quicksand where everything seems unstable and elusive, with that strange feeling of not knowing if you are moving forward or not, or that experience of a “non-Newtonian fluid” – a fluid you can walk on. In short, we are between immobility and speed, between raw materials and etheric frequencies!
The second Golden Oriole, Thore Warland, drums, and Kristoffer Riis, guitar, who used to play in trio under the name of Staer, produced here by Jørgen Træen, alias Sir Dupermann, gives us a side of a harmonious and reverberated groove that Bill Laswell or Golden Palominos wouldn’t have disavowed !

Le premier nous livre 7’30” d’un sable mouvant électronique et impulsif où tout semble instable et insaisissable, avec cette sensation étrange d’ignorer si on avance ou pas, ou cette expérience d’un “fluide non-newtonien” soit un fluide sur lequel on peut marcher –
bref nous sommes entre immobilité et vitesse, entre matières brutes et fréquences étheriennes ! Le second Golden Oriole, soit Thore Warland, batterie, et Kristoffer Riis, guitare, qui autrefois jouaient en trio sous le nom de Staer, produit ici par Jørgen Træen, alias Sir Dupermann, nous livre une face d’un groove harmonieux et réverbéré que n’aurait pas renié Bill Laswell ou Golden Palominos !
