Membre du World Forum for Acoustic Ecology, Hildegard Westerkamp (née en Allemagne en 1946, vit et travaille au Canada depuis 1968) centre la plus grande partie de son travail sur les sons de l’environnement et l’écologie acoustique. “A Walk Through The City” (1981), “Fantasie For Horns II” (1979) pour cor et bande, “Kits Beach Soundwalk” (1989) pour voix parlée et bande, “Cricket Voice” (1987), “Beneath The Forest Floor” (1992).
